The Chandigarh Electrical Department is established on 2 May 1967. it is very responsible for Transmission and distribution of power supply up to consumers and continuous power supply available to each Dist of Chandigarh.the peak demand of UT electricity department has touched 323 mw on dated 24 May 2010 which was met from different central and state generating stations.Chandigarh electrical generating capacity is very powerful.At present the Chandigarh electrical station is receiving to 51% of its power though Mohali and 9% in Dhulkote and 40% in Nalagarh.its has a transmission network which comprises of one NO. 220 kv sub station at Kishangarh Manimajra and 66 kv sub stations.at present The Chandigarh electricity Department in 197931 consumers which include 1,69,288 domestic consumers 24,619 commercial consumers. it provided full electricity and power of Chandigarh Peoples.

For the last three days power supply to sector 50in general and sector 50D in particular is erratic. Too many disruptions. Even now power has been off for the last two hours. Great inconvenience in this hot weather especially to senior citizens like me.

Sir, one of the GPRA resident misusing electricity for his house No 1200 Ground Floor Sector 46B whose meter is having 0175 reading since long. He is using high load of electricity in his house whereas paying less bill during last few years taking advantage of his wife as she is a social worker and member of Manila Yuva Morcha BJP Chandigarh. Kindly look into the matter and enquire last one year payment made by them against electricity bill. Thanks a lot.

I jointly with gian chand bhambry purchased flat no 2335 , Aastha apartments sector 48-C chandigarh and requested change of name in the elect bill for which ,as required , paid the security deposit of Rs 39789/- on Feb 17/02 2020 and submitted the file with the concerned official in elect. office in ind. area I , chandigarh . I have yet to hear about it whether the change of name in the bill has been done or not . If not , then pl. expedite the same . Thank you.

In the bill no. 020453, received today for the period 06/02/2020 to 06/06/2020, kindly explain the undermentioned charges of Arrears.
It is pertinent to mention that the last payment date is shown as 25/02/2020 for an amount of 3866.
However, in the current bill mentioned ibid, there are arrears shown for an amount of Rs 4510. Since all the bills prior to this one had been cleared, hence this arrears amount is not understood.
It is requested that clarification for this arrears amount of Rs 4510 be forwarded to me at the earliest.
