    SYNOSIS OF ‘RED DECEMBER’
It was the most glorious war fought by India post-independence. This was the war in which India took the maximum number of POW’s taken in any war. It reduced its enemy Pakistan by half. But the story of the war was written by ordinary men and women in their blood.
Bhavana Thakur finds the diary of a Pakistani officer and a MS written by her mother about the ’71 war. Although written as a fiction she recognises the various characters on whose experiences it is based. This is the story of that war, fought by India and Pakistan in which India was victorious and succeeded in splitting Pakistan into Pakistan and Bangladesh. It is the story of Major Thakur who goes through the then East Pakistan and is the witness to the birth of Bangladesh. It is the story of Pushpa, the socialite, who runs away from home to join her star-crossed love Romesh, who is a fighter pilot. It is the story of a mother who kills her own son when she finds him playing traitor. It is the story of Raka, a smuggler by profession, but a man who is as patriotic as any other man in India. It is the story of doctor Surendernath, who is oath bound to save lives, but finds himself killing people instead. It is the story of the human side of war. The people involved and how they behave and think because they are not only soldiers, or the kith-and-kins of soldiers who are bound to be patriotic, but as they are also human beings.
More than forty years have passed but Bhavana finds the MS fascinating and then she finds the picture of the Pakistani officer and his wife. She decides to go to Pakistan to return the diary and the photo to the family of the officer and sees another human side of war.

    Sir
this is a fiction which was published just before the Covid time. I am a war widow who has been writing professionally since 1979 and have more than 250 published short stories, articles etc. to my credit. These include 22 books on subjects ranging from children's literature to M&B type of romances to professional books on terrorism and old age problems and mythological fiction. I hope you will consider this for turning it into a series or a film. If required I can send hard cover copies to you . Do give me a reply either way. Thanking you,
