I wish to make an Oscar standard Hindi movie in collaboration with you. Even if it does not win an Oscar award, it will definitely be nominated to Oscar festival by the Indian movie authorities.
A word about me. I am a retired Colonel of the Indian Army. I have published several thick books in English and one of them is “India’s Freedom Fighters in Arms.” The first three chapters can be made into three movies, one after the other.
The first movie I am proposing is “The Great Indian Rebellion, 1857, A True Carbon Copy.” The film will describe what truly, I mean truly, happened, in the 18 months that followed May 1857 Revolt in India.
There will be no heroes, no heroines, no songs and no dances. It will be somewhat a serious picture, like the documentaries we see in NetFlix or Prime Video. Although it is not a documentary, it will be neither a fiction, like the Hindi film producers make. It will have a story.
The money required for the whole film at the most is 1.5 crore rupees. This you have to bear. I am from Hyderabad, but the six months that the picture will take to make it, for most part, I will be at Mumbai. I will supervise the making of the film and chase the artistes and technicians. During this period you don’t have to pay me a penny.
For my story and all the effort I put in, earnestly, give me half the share of the profit that it will make. We will put English sub-titles to attract foreign audience.
