    (I already have raised a Consumer forum complaint in the Indian Consumer forum court.Complaint ID:- 3191893)

    This is to complain against a horrible incident which happened at Manipal Hospital (Previously Columbia Asia ) Varthur Road Branch.
    I have been visiting the hospital for 3 years now for treating my father,mother,wife , baby and myself as well on various branches (Hebbal and Varthur road). My wife's C_section Operation has been done by Doctor Sitarajan last year.My father was admitted to the hospital in the year 2019 and have spent more than 10 lakhs on all the family members treatment.

    But on 10th December when I took my baby (Hospital ID: 273319) we were NOT allowed to visit the doctor Vedarth(even after phone booking) because the HOSPITAL STUFFS named Manager Prabhakaran and another Lady receptionist on Nurse station C.
    1)We stood in the queue with our sick baby (age 1 years) of Nurse station C for 20mins and when our turn came then the Lady receptionist on Nurse station C told us that she will not allow us to visit the doctor and we have to stand aside and let others pass by. When we asked the reason then she said there are pending bill issues so first we need to talk to management and get them cleared and then shall she allow us to visit the doctor.
    2)We requested her to first let us visit the doctor, we will pay the amount for the doctor visit and once my sick baby is attended I will talk to the management to clear any doubts/issues/bills from previous history.She completely denied and asked us to wait for management to appear.
    3)When we still persuaded her to activate our doctor visit then she got furious and started shouting at us.She shuted at my wife and asked her to "shut up". Then we also raised our voice and told we should be allowed to visit the doctor first with full payment for the visit.
    Later we can clarify previous historical issues. She again started shouting at me.
    4)Finally the management people appeared and asked us to wait in a corner room.
    5)Waiting for almost 15minutes we decided to visit another hospital to attend to our sick child.
    6)While we were leaving the hospital premises, the manager named Prabhakaran and his team came and stopped us from going to another hospital and started shouting at us and even blamed that "We took their money and run away before!!!!". They harassed us beyond limit.
    7)When we asked what is the matter then they brought the incident. Here is the previous incident:-
    -We had earlier bought a package from the hospital for our baby's vaccination costing 36,000 Rs.
    -After getting vaccinated for 5 times one of the hospital stuff told me that I have some money in the hospital account left and can claim refund for the same.
    -I asked them the process to claim refund, filled up their form to claim the refund and then received a refund of around 8000 Rs.
    -When we later went for 6th vaccination another hospital stuff said "Sir, we have mistakenly provided you refund as that was part of your baby's vaccination package".
    - I mentioned why would you refund me something that is a package already, as I thought my wife was admitted to the same hospital for her C-Section and father earlier. There must be some amount left from those times.
    - They requested me to pay the refunded amount back because that they have made a mistake. Then I said we will not continue to take the package benefit any longer and take the rest of the vaccines from other hospitals.
    -After that for around 6months I too vaccines from other hospitals and never visited the hospital again and they tried to disturb us again and again asking for the money. Which was also kind of a harassment as we never visited the hospital any longer(for any further package benefits) and it was never our fault in the first place.

    8)So when this was the actual incident HOW DARE THEY HARRASS US TELLING WE TOOK THEIR MONEY??
    And second, THEY DID NOT ALLOW A SICK BABY TO GET TREATED BY A DOCTOR??
    IS THIS EVEN HUMANITY? This is a criminal offense. THEY RUN A HOSPITAL and THEY are stopping a severe sick baby patients from visiting doctor.
    We need justice here.

    FYI:-I myself deal in Legal matter for a very big MNC .I have a legal team working with me consisting of a team of High court lawyers.It is a part of my job to make sure such customer harassments are minimized and I will not stop until I get a formal Apology from Manager Prabhakaran , Lady receptionist and the Team. I am planning to forward this consumer complaint and Manipal Complaint to a very renowed Criminal high lawyer
    of city of Bangalore and willing to sue the company on "Humanitarian" and "Customer Public harassments" and "Basic human rights" Grounds and will send another Legal Notice to the Manager Prabhakaran .
    The sue amount will be more than 2 lakhs for sure and I will win the case once it will go to the court.

    Message I would like to give to the hospital stuffs of Columbia Asia /Manipal Varthur:-
    1)WHEN YOU MAKE MISTAKES FROM YOUR SIDE THEN YOU GOT TO PAY FOR THAT MISTAKE AND not FORCE A CUSTOMER PAY FOR YOUR MISTAKES. There is price to be paid for a mistake made by somebody.
    2)I NEVER VISITED THE HOSPITAL AFTER THE Refund issue, so HOW DARE THEY CHARGE ME FOR 2000Rs from the package.They even cannot show me proper calculations on the 36000Rs I paid for the package. If I got 8000 Refund then where did my 36-8= 28000Rs gone?
    I dont think for the first 5 times vaccination the hospital took 28k.
    SO BASICALLY I SHOULD CLAIM REFUNDS HERE AS I NEVER VISITED THE HOSPITAL FOR THE next 6 vaccines(which were included in the package ). I paid that from my own pocket from outside hospitals.
    3) BEING A HOSPITAL STUFF YOU DONOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO STOP A SICK patient from visiting a doctor when the patient is ready to pay visit to the doctor. I was ready to pay 900Rs for Doctor Vedarth still they denied me.
    4) to the MANIPAL HOSPITAL board of directors:- You will surely lose valuable customers and patients is these kind of pathetic behavior is continued by your disgusting hospital stuffs.
    I already have switched to different hospital to treat my family members and I will forward this incident/consumer forum complaint ID to a MEDIA CHANNEL Representative from national television and other private news channels so that such mishaps never occur again.
