Corona virus relief Appeal to protect Poor People surrounding villages
Corona virus, The most serious health hazard to hit India – Tamil Nadu in decades is sweeping through the country, and SKAVNS -NGO is asking for your help to keep the most vulnerable are elders and children in Tamil Nadu especially rural poor who need safety and protection.
Indian Government and State Government has declared as National Disaster on spreading of Corona virus and has instructed preventive measures such as washing hands, covering masks, etc. All shops, educational institution, mall, company, Industries was closed until 14th April 2020. Curfew at Tamil Nadu, Polices are monitoring the curfew and taking action against unnecessary movement of people. Government allows people to buy necessary items like medicines, milk , groceries between 6 AM to 2.30 PM. It makes demand for medical preventive solution and Mask, price extraordinary of basic food materials, etc are results of Corona virus.
But, in Rural areas, the people are not aware of Coronavirus and they do not sensitize the importance of preventive aspects of Coronavirus. 40 % of people in the rural areas are agricultural coolies and their livelihoods are affected. In this scenario, they do not have money to spend on medical preventive aspects. Already, Rural areas is having poor health and hygiene. Rural area poor are most vulnerable and need to have supports.
Government has announced curfew, but not taken any precautionary measures, etc. but pathetic is that there is no action on poor’s livelihood, there is any distribution of medical preventive materials, food materials, etc. Poor has to earn for the medical preventive aspects as well as livelihoods also. Poor has lack of strength financially, mentally and medically to access the preventive measures.
Many people are unemployed and income less. In this scenario, Poor dost not have money to buy masks, soaps, towels ,etc to protect themselves. At least, SKAVNS -NGO intents serve poorand their families with its strength.
SKAVNS -NGO has been organizing poor in Tamilnadu-India and provide Livelihood with its limited sources. Organization is intent to serve surrounding 10 villages.
Because most of the poor we care for are in fragile health, exposure to the corona virus is extremely life-threatening.
