The University was established by the Government of NCT of Delhi via an Act of Delhi Legislature and started its functioning in the year 2008. The university is a unitary educational institute whose main function was to impart education to students at undergraduate and post graduate level. The University offers a paradigm platform to students on research and studies in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Ambedkar University Delhi is completely funded by State Government and receives applications from student’s catty-corners. Delhi being the hub of cultural diversity and educational institutes attracts numerous students each year to apply to University for its various courses and disciplines. The college campus spreads over 110 acres of land that includes 60 acres of bio-diversity part to conserve the wetlands. The campus that is to be established in the near future is energy efficient, ecologically frugal and comprises academic, residential, social facilities and recreational hubs.
