Nava Nalanda Mahavihara was established in the year 13th November 2006. The University was established with an intention to cater to mass education and deliver high quality education to students of the state and the neighboring places. It strives to bring forth all the sections Nava NalandaMahavihara is a UGC recognized University in the state of Bihar and of the society on the equal platform and equip them all with the weapon of education so that all can stand for their right and can get right opportunities.
The institute initiatedworking as a deemed University in 2007 with around 540 students. It also comprised 125 foreign monks from different South East Asian countries. It offers various courses to students from different backgrounds. Few of the important courses are Ph.D in Pali, Philosophy, Sanskrit and Buddhist Studies in English and Hindi. It has several departments to mention few are Department of Arts, Business Management, Social Science, Technology, Commerce, Law, Informatics and Oriental Languages.
