It is published from Kolkata by Bartaman Pvt. Ltd. it was started in December 1984 by Barun Sengupta. Long financial deprieveness/discrimination of Frontline health worker like ANM NUHM/NRHM not solved despite if issuance of Govt.of WB health Deptt memorandum no.1351 and 1352 dated 29/12/20 where a new entrants will draw more pay than a senior Senior ANM NUHM presently drawing RS 9380/-and a new entrants will draw RS.13000/- as entry pay.No any benefit for seniors on RATIONALISATION.ANM Rural are drawing RS.27500/- in a permanent post for same nature of duties and same training background.Why not they are paying equal salary for equal work with s permanent post.This type of injustice/financial deprieveness should be resolved/sorted out immediately.A mass protest/wide publicity on the genuine issue should be taken for such injustice.

On 19.12.21 a Bengali novel authored by Prosanta Nath Choudhuri was released at Albart Hall Jalpaiguri named " Preme Aprema Teesta" (প্রেমে-অপ্রেমে তিস্তা).
It depicts the story of some families migrated from East Pakistan and settled besides the river Teesta, their struggle, cultural change of the locality.
