The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is a statutory body under section 3 of Bihar School Examination Act – 1952, which is functioning under Government of Bihar devised to conduct examinations at secondary and senior secondary standard in both government and private schools belonging to state of Bihar.
BSEB was established in 1952 and is headquartered in Patna, Bihar. The board is responsible for conducting the following examinations:
- Secondary School Examination (Class 10)
- Senior Secondary School Examination (Class 12)
- Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Examination
- Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET)
- Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya (SAV) Entrance Examination
- Diploma in Physical Education (DPE) Examination
BSEB also conducts a number of other examinations, such as the compartmental examination, special examination, and vocational examination.
BSEB is one of the largest state education boards in India, with over 10 million students appearing for its examinations each year. The board’s mission is to provide quality education to all students in Bihar and to prepare them for higher education and employment.
