ABC TEA WORKERS WELFARE SERVICES, a Non-profit Service Consortium, is the only enterprise of its kind in the organized sector of the Tea Industry.ABC Tea Workers Welfare Services is a Public Limited Company licenced under section 25 of the Companies Act 1956 and is registered under section 12A of the Income Tax Act 1961 for exemption from Income Tax. Assam Bengal Cereals Ltd.,(ABCL), now ABC Tea Workers Welfare Services(ABCTWWS) was incorporated as a Public Limited Company in the 1968 with contributions made by all the major Tea Companies towards its Share Capital. With its formation, Assam Bengal Cereals Ltd. (ABCL) took over the infrastructure including the staff of Steel Bros. & Co. Ltd. and commenced its operation under the control and supervision of a Board of Directors.
