Lalit Narayan Mithila University is a known university of Bihar State and was established in the year 1972. The educational institute started functioning from Sara Mohanpur Village of Darbanga District in the year 1975 and thereafter the expansion of its academic activities it shifted its campus.
Presently the University is situated in Darbhanga and is a renowned platform for students from across the state and neighboring place to pursue higher education. It is popularly known as the heart. Precisely Mithila is a region of North India that is culturally rich and is located between range of Himalayas and Ganges river. The University widely offers great academic assistance to students in different fields as in Humanities, social science, commerce, life science and medicine. It offers both undergraduate and post-graduate courses. Its huge campus has great capacity for large number of students offering different departments to students of each discipline.
More than 400 professors and highly experienced faculties are employed who are thoroughly engaged in teaching and research. The campus sprawls over an area of 200 acres and is built with modern facilities and ensures a motivating ambiance for students so that they groom in best possible manner. As on date the University has approximately 67 campuses out of which 43 are constituent colleges and 24 are affiliated colleges.
