Cochin International Airport is located in Nedumbassery (a suburb), about 30 km northeast of Kochi in Kerala, India. It is the busiest and largest airport in the state. The airport handles about 13,000 passengers every day. There are 9 domestic airlines and 17 international airlines connecting Cochin with nearly 30 destinations countrywide and worldwide. Cochin Airport is the primary base for Air India Express. It is the focus city for Air India, GoAir, IndiGo, Jet Airways, JetLite and SpiceJet. The airport has both arrival hall and departure hall. Both halls have a capacity to handle about 1,200 passengers per hour separately. There are 27 Emigration counters available at Departure and 23 Immigration counters at the Arrival Terminal.

Why are not the staff checking hand baggage replaced by people from Kerala...Why are people from North India employed who lack respect for tourists..We are tourists from Saudi Arabia who come to Kerala because of our knowledge of Kerala people's respect for tourists..But we are surprised by the rudeness, impoliteness and racism of airport security staff from North India..If we wanted North India we would have gone there! We are looking for respect of tourists not contempt and ridicule of them! We will never return to Cochin airport again.
