I am writing to you regarding my vehicle Skoda Laura TDI bearing the registration no. GA-07-K-4262.
My car had accidental damage post which i kept my car in the Skoda service centre in Verna, Goa on 20th June 2022 for the repairs and insurance claims. The repairs took place for over a span of almost 2 months due to non availability of the spare parts and them being placed order for. During this duration I regularly made visit to inquire about my car which was kept in the body shop. And during my visit I frequently noticed that there was “Rat feces/poop” in the engine bay, near the car battery. I also informed the technician about it and stated my concerns about the rats eating the wires, to which the technician assured me that it will not cause any damage the wires and asked me not to worry.

However, post the repairs in the body shop my car was sent to service section to get serviced, after a series of repairs regarding the battery issues and sensors, I was informed by them that the car will not start as the wires of the gateway unit of the car were damaged by rats and informed me that it will need replacement of the gateway unit and gave an estimate of ₹40,000/- approx to get it repaired.

I want bring this to your attention that when the car was initially given in the service centre it was in fully working condition as we drove the damaged vehicle but the negligence of the service centre has lead to this cost and would request you to take accountability for this damage and bare the costs of the replacement of the gateway.
