Tezpur University is a Central University that is located in the North Eastern State of Assam of India by the act of Parliament in the year 1994 by the Prime Minister of India, P V NarsimhaRao. The University saw its inception when the need was felt for an educational set up in the state along with Assam University and Indian Institute of Technology.
