I am lieutenant commander M L sharma (Retd) writing from Mohali in Punjab.
It was very nice of you to have tabled population control bill in the Rajya Sabha. While I was watching the debate, I was surprised to listen views of some members wherein they said that total fertility rate in india is stabilising in few states and will be stabilised in few others in due course.
This justification seems totally out of context because the population of this country has increased by 14 crores in the last ten years. (i.e.from 121 crores in 2011 to 135 crores in 2021 ) when all these measures were in place.
We are heading for a society wherein people will be malnourished, unemployed, uneducated and corrupt. The jobs are limited and many people will resort to unlawful activities to make both ends meet. The root cause of this will be overpopulation in his country for sure.
