    your changed contract with Swiss air for using Lufthansa lounge at IGI Delhi by Sumit Sehgal:

    My FTL no. is 992222681252243, I have booked with Lufthansa to LA for 3.05.2015 and return Atlanta-Toronto-Delhi, I got Delhi-LA connection with Swiss air and am NOT ALLOWED to use Lufthansa lounge at Delhi due to your revised contract with Swiss!! Its really shame am am very disappointed with this. I don,t know why Lufthansa did this... I am sure you will loose some loyal clients with this small move.
    Please take your contract back and allow all silver status holders at Delhi Lufthansa lounge even if they are booked with Swiss or Austrian or Lufthansa

    Hope you will consider this request from a loyal Customer of Lufthansa from last 6years.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I seek your immediate attention to the unfortunate event occured on the 15th June 2017 at the Mumbai International Airport by one of your staff member who claimed himself to be Mr.Kunal.
    Please find below the details of the exact happenings that took place from 10pm (14th June) until 2am (15th June) 2017 for which I seek adequate compensation for the harrassment caused to me based on racial profiling and the financial loss that incurred due to the misconduct of your employee (Mr.Kunal)

    - 15th June, 2017: I was scheduled to board the flight no. LH765, PNR: VNDIXH from Mumbai to Budapest via Munich. I arrived to the Lufthansa desk handed over my passport and the ticket. The staff member behind the desk asked me that I have a french visa and I am going to Germany for which I replied ’It is a Schengen Visa’ and that I am not going to Germany but to Budapest(Hungary) where my son lives and from there I would go to France by road. And the staff member (Mr.Kunal) asked me to stand aside with a very rude tone.

    I stood there showing my cooperation and after waiting for a while I asked him ’Sir,why have you put me out of the queue’ for which he wouldn’t say nothing and simply ignore.
    After a while I again asked him if there is any problem for which he said, I can-not board the plane as my visa is from France and not from Germany. I was surprised and told him that this is a Schengen Visa and does-not mean I have to go to France only or the first port of entry has to be France. I described that I will be going to France by Road with my son who is a European citizen living in Budapest and also according to the Schengen regulation ’either the first port of entry be France or the maximum duration of stay has to be in France’ which ever is applicable. For which, he got angry and told me ’not to teach him about the visa’ and told me I know ’Sardars going to Europe with what intention’.

    He started to ask me un-necessarily documents, just to harrass me for instance, to show him the car details and the bookings, for which I told him my son lives there and he is a European citizen and he has his own car and has the bookings. But he woud-not listen anything. And who carries car papers ? Regarding bookings I told him that my son is handling the bookings and I am going to him and from there we would travel by road and that if he wants I can ask my son to send me the bookings right now but he wouldn’t look to hear anything. I called my son to explain Mr.Kunal and send him the booking and asked Mr.Kunal to speak with my son and cooperate but he refused to speak with my son either on phone. He told me he wouldn’t even listen to him. I felt he had already decided not to cooperate and harrass me and not to let me board.
    I showed him on my passport that I have been to Europe several times on Schengen Visa and never had any issue. Also showed him as an example of my last visit that my visa was issued from Spanish embassy but we landed in Paris(France) and from there we went by road to Barcelona, Spain.

    Besides this, I also told him my visa is for 3 months and is valid for multiple visits and I can use this visa multiple times within 3 months and can go to any of the Schengen countries and does-not have to be France every time I visit Europe.
    He seemed to have no knowledge and understanding of the Visa rules and despite requesting him, he simply just wouldn’t listen and kept on saying I can’t go to Germany.

    I told him if there is any Visa-offense or not meeting the visa rule, let the immigration officers do their job and decide. But he would simply ignore me and I look stupid chasing him.
    It looked that he did-not have proper knowledge ont he type of visa and I still do-not understand what was the problem. I was going to Hungary (Budapest) via Germany(Munich), my final exit point was Budapest and not Germany(Munich) it was just a transit for me. After reaching Budapest we would have gone by road to Southern France. We did such trips in the past as well. That’s it.

    I called my son in Budapest and this time even he mentioned to Mr.Kunal that I am going to Budapest and from there we would go to France. But he wouldn’t listen and gave the phone back to me and told me’ He wouldn’t let me go’

    And that instead he has informed German Consulate to block me to travel and I have to produce the travel itinerary which I showed to obtain the Visa. I told him that, the itinerary showed to obtain the visa was already used and my visa is Multiple entry so I can travel again on different itinerary. He acted like a fool who does-not understand any visa rules and what Multiple entry means. It all looked to me as if he has already made up his mind to not let me fly. I almost had panic attack as he was using the words such as ’Blocked’ you, ’You can-not leave India’ without clearance, ’You are in the list’. He even said I can’t even leave the airport without his permission. Also, that no other airlines would allow me to board. And then he made me sign in some Register and then left me and this time he again said to me, I know ’ You Sardars’. I felt as if I am a terrorist or criminal and not a law abiding, tax-paying Senior citizen of India. Is this how Lufthansa treats their passengers?

    This thing went all night and at last he did-not let me board the plane and gave me in writing that ’Passenger is not travelling to France’ and denied boarding. So, he decided on his own that I am not going to France and asked me to go to French Embassy and ask for clearance (which I still do-not understand) what clearance, he meant?

    I was there in the airport from 10pm (14th June) until 2am (15th June). In the middle of the night I had to find a hotel in Mumbai again, took all the luggage back with me, felt like treated as criminal and third class citizen, humiliated, harrassed and almost had a panick attack, I went to the hotel and was disturbed all night. For the first time in my life, I felt RACISM in my own country.

    After which, I called several airlines and none told me that I could be stopped on such grounds as I possessed a valid visa and a return ticket. I also went to the French Embassy the next morning and they told me, the airlines had no rights to stop me, if I had the visa and a return ticket.

    There after, I bought the ticket on the same route to Budapest from Mumbai with Turkish airlines and travelled to Europe and came back on the 29th of June,

    I have travelled all over to Canada/Europe/Asia on several occassions and never had any such issues and this kind of harrassment to a senior citizen at 1am in the night with racial profiling that I am a Sardar (Sikh) and that he knows about Sardars that they go and do-not come. Such non-sense to a senior citizen just because I have beard and a turban.

    KEY POINTS where I seek your response to:

    1) On what grounds did Lufthansa Airlines stopped me to board the plane?
    (I checked with other airlines and all mentioned that there duty is to check ’if the passenger has a valid visa’ and ’Return ticket’ that is it)

    2) Why did you send me to French Embassy to get the clearance?
    (I almost got a panick attack when Kunal said I must bring a clearance from the Embassy, I felt like crimincal as what have I done wrong, so I went to the French Embassy the next morning and the Embassy told me that the Airlines can-not stop me to fly if I have a valid visa and return tickets. And on asking them for clearnace the Embassy told me, that they gave me the Visa and this is the Clearance, there is no other clearance than this. Apart the Embassy also mentioned that My Visa is valid and legitimate and I can travel any Schengen country on this as long as its valid and the airlines shouldn’t stop me if I possess a Visa and a return ticket. I wasted my time, money and the harrassment that caused to me can-not be measured.

    3) He also threatened me that he has informed German Consulate for not letting me travel and send an alert to all other airlines, which looked like a planed conspiracy. And I do-not understand, I wasn’t going to Germany nor was my visa was issued by German Consulate, but I see that Lufthansa is German so he probably meant that way. But when I went to the French Embassy and asked them for clearance and explained what Lufthansa told me, they told me there is no such alert in the system and I can freely travel and same was conveyed by other airlines. CAN YOU PLEASE JUSTIFY why was this nuissance created to harrass me?



    4) Most importantly he lied and planed a conspiracy to harrass me on racial profiling as he told me on 2-3 occassions that I know ’Sardars, they go and don’t come back’ and mislead me that I have been put on an alert and can’t fly and no airlines would accept and all non-sense..
    (I am a businessman and have travelled on several occassions to Europe/Canada etc. I was never treated in such a manner by any other airlines. It’s a shame how in my own country I was treated. Being a senior citizen I expected little more compassion and decency despite he wouldn’t even listen and made me feel like a Terrorist) Can you justify this please without apologising?

    5) There was no legal ground to stop me and what he mentioned that I can-not go to Germany was non-sense as my final destination was not Germany and here is the Schengen visa rule from the French Embassy Webpage under the FAQ: You can also check on this link: http://www.vfs-france.co.in/FAQ.html
    Q:1- I am traveling to multiple Schengen countries. From which Consulate should I apply for my Schengen visa?
    Schengen visa must be applied from The Embassy / The Consulate of the country where you will be staying for maximum number of days. If your stay has equal number of days in each country then you must apply to The Embassy / The Consulate of the country which would serve as the first port of entry.

    (I was telling him all the time that my maximum stay would be in France and that we will drive from Budapest to Southern France. So not necessarily I have to only arrive in France just cuz the visa was issued from the French embassy. I can arrive in any Schengen country and also that my Visa is Multiple entries and I can use it multiple times within its validity to visit any European Schengen country but as I said this was a Racial profilig harrassment and he had already made his mind, he wouldn’t listen and by the way, What did he get by doing all this? I could travel with other airlines and came back, so can you please justify why did he stop me and on what grounds?)


    I am a businessman and a law abiding, senior citizen of India and was treated with complete disdain. It was not just embarrassing or humiliating, I felt was treated with so much disrespect, agony and racism. Never felt so much harrassed and helpless in my life. I literally begged and had nervous break down at the airport.

    For all this shamefull act from Lufthansa, I seek adequate compensation for the racial harrassment caused and the financial loss that occured due to not letting me board the scheduled plane with immediate effect.

    I need JUSTICE.

    I will wait for your response with regards to the above matter. In case of no reply or response from yourside, I will have no choice but to seek justice at the Court of Law and reach out to the Sikh Federation of India on Racial profiling issue.
