Kindly note that a senior citizen couple, who lives in my neighborhood have opened a veg. and non-veg. food outlet on a commercial road in Delhi have been issued a Closure Notice U/S 417/397/421 under the DMC Act, 1957 by the Dy. Health Officer for operating without the required Trade License.

As they have invested all their retirement money in the Outlet, to avoid any impact, they closed their outlet of their own to avoid the sealing and applied for the Trade License with all the necessary documents and requested DHO and Inspector to look into the case on urgency and help them in either approving their License on priority or allow them to open the outlet as we have already applied for the required License but the request has been turned-down by the DHO and Inspector stating that the license process will take 2 months and accordingly, outlet cannot be opened for next 2 months.

As this outlet is the only source of their earning and they are not in a position to keep the outlet closed for 2 months and bear the operating cost on account of rent (opened the outlet on a rented space) and staff’s salary, request your help in confirming, if the senior citizens can open their outlet after submitting all the required documents for license and till the final decision on their application is taken.
